anyone know facts about The Big Peanut in North Tolga, Queensland (Australia)? Like when it was built, why it was built...

I have a book called'Big Things-Australia's Amazing Roadside Attractions' by David Clark and it has a page devoted to this'Big Peanut'
The text is' Some of the best peanuts in Australia are grown in the area around Tolga on north Queensland's Atherton Tablelands, but a rather pathetic Big Peanut sits atop a 5-metre high pole in front of the Big Peanut Fruit Shop just north of the town. Richard and Singke (Janet) Carver opened the shop in July 1977, selling locally produced fruit and vegetables on the site of an old peanut farm. Fire destroyed the building in 1992 and although it was rebuilt less than a month later, there's some debate as to whether the fibreglass peanut (with smiley face and top hat) should have survived.'
