Could I Wash In The River Thames At Reading Festival?

I'm going reading festival this summer and was wondering if it would be possible for me to jump in the river, climb out, do the shower gel, then jump back in and rinse myself off. I'm not worried about anything really apart from maybe the currant, which is obviously too strong in central london, where i live, but may be safer in reading, and whether it's all fenced off or whatever to stop people from jumping in.

Also i know there are showers provided but they're dirty and you have to queue for ages so i might as well go for the full hippy experience and was with nature.

The Thames is fairly clean at Reading. The current isn't strong in normal conditions. There used to be a swimming area in the river. I'm not sure if it still exists.

The river isn't normally fenced off. However, it may be along the festival area.
