Question About Cities In Massachusetts?

Is boston the only one I should visit, I go there a lot, like every other weekend almost. How are the other cities (Cambridge, Springfield, Worcester) are they historical, worth visiting, touristy? I'm sure they don't have skyscrapers like Boston

Best Answer

Cambridge definitely has sites worth visiting
Harvard and MIT both have museums, including an excellent natural history one at Harvard
Harvard Square is very cool, too
Worcester and Springfeild don't have much, there are a few museums in each: Higgins Armory and the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester and the Basketball Hall of Fame and an art museum in Springfield ( there are a few other museums in Springfield as well, in a place called Museum Square)

also check out Salem. It hs a bunch of Witch stuff there, most of it is cheesy, but fun, as well as the Peabody Essex Museum and a historic site run by the National Park Service (it has nothing to do with witches BTW)

also check out Minute Man National Park in Concord and Lexington
hike in the Mount Tom Range in western Massachusetts, there are a few state parks in Easthampton, Hadley , Hatfield and Holyoke
also lots of hiking trails in other parts of western massachusetts:
Mount Greylock, Quabbin Reservoir, and Bish Bash Falls come to mind
you have Tanglewood Classical Concerts in Lenox
Mass Moca Art Museum in North Adams
Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge

in central Massachusetts, you can climb Mount Wachusett in Princeton
head to Tower Hill Botanic Gardens in Boylston
or check out Purgatory Chasm in Sutton

elsewhere in eastern Massachusetts
go to Horseneck Beach in Westport (summer only)
Lowell Mills Historic Site in Lowell
New Bedford Whaling Museum
the Cape and Islands are great in the summer time
